IIRC, The usual side to undo itself is the left front?
I Might be wrong though
You could change over to the GU style of locking device.
IIRC it costs under $40 per side for the items needed?
cheers

Change to GU type. adjust and forget. Old type of lock washer is as useful as tits on a fish.

Do you have the lock washer in between the 2 nuts??
It has to be bent over a flat on the inside nut after tensioning bearings....and then second nut fitted and tightened...and then washer is bent over that nut away from bent tab over first nut ...about 2 flats away.
If done correctly ...system works well.
HTH.

i asked at the local repco and carbitz and coventry if they stocked the GU locking parts, but they were usless and didnt understand...
is there anywhere else in particular i can find a set of the GU locking parts?
and do they fit straight on?

some times the tab will screw its self though the thread on the spindle, nissan are the best to get the lock nuts from.
Just get the inner nut and the locking ring and buy socket head cap screws from a bolt shop to suit the locking ring. Standard screws are posi drive POS and always strip out.
GU lock washer conversion for GQs/MQs
Nut lock, front wheel NI-40262-02J00 1 per side $8 each
Washer for front wheel bearing NI-40264-02J10 1 per side $6 each
From memory the lock screws are M4 (could be M5) 8mm long, 2 per side. Get high tensile socket head cap screws.
