Long range petrol/diesel tank swap

looking at buying along range fuel tank for my GU patroL! i see for sale a GQ long range 120L main tank that was used for a petrol one! just curious as if the GQ tanks fit the GUs! ive heard they do but hope for a confirmation! also does it matter getting atank that is use for a petrol on and putting it into a diesel car! will the fuel pump etc still all conect up??

120ltr ?? Sounds more like an LPG tank. all of the main tank Long range's are 146 or bigger.

GQ/GU at ARB and TJM share the same part #s..

tthis is a link here! it say approx so i reckon it is bigger but ive heard that these tanks always leave a bit in the borttom??

makes no difference. The tanks are the same. If anything just poor a litre of your chosen fuel in it. Splash it around and then drain it. If empty already. There want be enough left to give either fuel system an issue. As your mixing the dregs with 100+lts of fuel.
And as bogged said. Generally they are around the 147-160lt mark for aftermarket tanks that replace the std rear tank. There are some custom ones that have slightly less i.e mine was setup for a 2"BL and I had the tank lifted. In doing that they must mod the tank slightly as it only ever had a usuable 130ish litres.

I couldnt find a company to move a tank from Syd - Melb for me when I was buyin one interstate.

just check if it fits the gu, i was told that the both fit the same but the gq sender/pikup or filler necks hit on the gu body. this is from memory but mine isnt that good that good. ;)
