Outer Limits 4x4 Board

The reservoir for coolant in my 81 Rangie has a pipe that just hangs down thru to the ground (its the thin tube out of the reservoir). Is that normal?

yep it's normal...its your overflow pipe. if too much pressure builds up, the expansion tank gets filled with water, if the bottle gets full of water it will come out this hose.
