the 60 series normally bolts to the rear of the seat, if you remove the plugs in the rear of the seat you will find the thread anchor points

I know that not what the baby seat manufactures recomend.

A 60# should have a child restraint anchorage bar (CRAB) fitted (requires a DOT approval up here in Qld).

Seats prior to 1990 (I think) in 4WDs did not have the strength in the back of the seat. In the event of an accident the seat would crush effectively lengthening the strap and allowing the capsule / child seat to throw foreward.

The CRAB is best!!

Brisvans does it here in Brisbane not sure will ask tomorrow.

By the way the later 60's do bolt into the seat, you could find later seats and swap them in. Was discussed a bit here and pics of later seats.

cheers for your help guys, looking at the pic of the crab bar i think mine used to have one fitted, as it has the big brackets mounted on the side panels in the back!
if i can get another crab bar i will put that in, but i will keep a lookout for the late model seats just in case!
