having just been thru one on a GU, it isnt cheap, eg $4000 for rebuilt box + other bits.
Speak with Rodney at Wholesale automatics, at least he knows his shit, unlike the "experts" I used.

there are other problems with it too, oh and the fact that somehow, the car went in with 2x full tanks from the mobil servo 2klms from them, and came out with 4ltrs in 1 tank and other empty.. but they must have done test drives to sort out the issues.. 800-1000 odd klms I better get that hole in both tanks checked out....
johns used them with my old GQ to much success... ask him

I must be a saddist, laughing at others misfortune.
My Cruiser I not long had was blowing a bit of smoke so I put it in before my trip around Australia thinking I could be up for a Turbo or something. I had to delay my trip for 3 months because that is how long it took to get it back. I was $16,000 poorer. When I picked it up it drove like a slug and I took it back several times to the reputable mob who reconditioned the pump. It didn't help much.
I put it in for dyno tuning at Mt Isa and then it drove like a rocket.
There is no way I would have spent $16,000 on it. I was told the turbo was stuffed, so we put it in to get work. A week later I was told the pump was stuffed. Put that in to get reconditioned. After that the engine was stuffed. The radiata is stuffed and the list went on bla bla bla bla.

I have had great work done by them.
I also know a lot of others who have great work done by them.
Yes I consider myself a friend of theirs but also with Bogged????
Flame suit on....

They have given Bogged a definite answer about something that they were not sure about. If you are not sure say so. It means you are being honest. Bogged then asked a 2nd and 3rd time if this was correct and they didn't blink an eye lid that it would be fine.
I would not trust them after this but it was too late for Bogged at this stage but it is not too late for others. They were out of their depth and tried to fudge their way through. Not good.

That related to another Topic, my company car.
Always two sides but a lot of people are happy with their Autos and service offered by them, a few as mentioned here are unhappy. Make your own mind up if you are in the area and require work done.

If they stuffed up every job they wouldn't be in business.
