Wheel alignment - non 4wd.

I have significant feathering (visible) on both front tyres of my daily driver, not long after significant (and expensive
) work to the front end. I'm about to hit google, but I thought I'd ask - will hard cornering cause feathering (not that I've been doing much of that lately), or is this most likely to be a toe problem - which would also explain the ongoing tramlining problem, which is why I had the front end looked at in the first place.
I think the feathering is consistent with excess toe in.

Feathering IS usually a sign of excess toe but can also be caused by hard cornering on under inflated tyres.
Go back and get the wheel alignment place to recheck the settings.

you can get feathering on both edges due to hard cornering, my ef xr6 falcon does this due to the fact that i live in the hills, and like to drive the car like it was meant to be driven!
it can also be caused by underinflation and incorrect toe, although incorrect toe angle will usually show up more on one side of the tyre than the other.
what sort of vehicle is it? what side of adelaide are you?
definately take it back, to get rechecked.
also ask the question of how often the wheel alignment machine is calibrated, as if its not calibrated regularly they may be setting the alignment to the correct specs but the machine may be out a few minutes/degrees and thats not cool!
by the way im not an expert and im happy to be corrected, but this is just from my experience in the wheel alignment area!

Sounds like a toe issue mate, get an independant alignment done with a readings print-out. If its out a fair way go back to the original place that did the work and hit them up for some new tyres! This is all presuming you haven't run up any gutters/changed anything since the original alignment.

Took it to my local Tyrepower this afternoon - 8mm toe in.
I won't bother going back to the other place - I only went to them because they're convenient for where I work. I was a little suspect when they told me it's all "spot on" - because I know I've got camber issues from lowered suspension, which Tyrepower tells me about every time. And, as pointed out, I can't prove that I haven't run up any gutters since they charged me for the last wheel alignment.
Next weekend is strip tyres from rims (directional) and reverse, to help get the wear patterns out.

directional tyres suck! gotta do that regularly to my car too!
