i currently have a blown lt230 (blew yesterday)

i have a spare viscus tranfer if worth putting in, or should i get the lt230 rebuilt?

is it true the drive shafts are different lenghts between the 2 transfers?

From what i understand, yes.
Get another LT230 or rebuild yours. Viscous is the pits.

I thought that viscous also dropped the shafts to the opposite side compared to the LT230.

I dont think they can be interchanged at all.

They propshafts are on the wrong sides to each other and so wont connect to the diffs, and internally they are completely different.

It depends on if the transfer case is for a P38a or a classic. If it's for a classic, then the only problem might be the length of the prop shafts.

You can fit the BW viscous coupling transfer for the time being, the front shaft will be too short off your LT230 though.

If you just want to drive it around in nrear wheel drive it'l be okay.
