tyre size limits in vic

can anyone help me with what the legal tyre size in vic is. My placard on car say 275/75/16 or 32.2"x16 am i aloud to run 2" over that size and still be legal did search on here and also vic roads couldnt see anything but then im blind as a bat any help would be great

also check with vicroads engineers as there are more detailed listings available. you really need to see what catagory your compliance plate is stamped with and go from there. a lot has changed since 2003.

Offroad vehicles can run up to 50mm (which is not 2" ;) ) larger diameter than the largest tyre specified for that vehicle based on the nominal diameter in the Tyre and Rim Manual which most Tyre shops have.

That info is based on the info in the NCOP which VicRoads and their VASS Signatory Engineers are working too but check it out properly for yourself. The latest version of the Tyre manual has this info in it too.
