Hi all. I know there is heaps of info already on this but I need some specific help for my truck. I am competing in the Tough Tracks comp and I need to stay within the rules. Basically I can have a maximum 4inch lift, move the diffs 50mm each end, can't do shackle reversal, can't change mounting positions on the chassis. I am allowed extended shackles, but not drop shackles.

At the moment I have extended shackles, and Old Man Emu springs that have been reset with more "curl". This achieves around 3-4inch lift but shackle angle is horrible and is not flexing very flash.

I am after any ideas for springs to stay within the rules, achieve 4 inch lift and maximum flex and move diffs 50mm each end to improve wheelbase by 100mm. Not worried about on road performance. I think 2 custom made leaves for each pack will be the go, however will cost about $1000 to make. If there is a cheaper way, I am all ears.

Thanks in advance.

find some std springs with the length you need and replace your 2 main leaves with these..

ive used 60 in the rear and 75 in the front... gives 5" wheelbase extention..

the shackle angle was improved with stock shackle mounts.. you might get more wheelbase extension with 75's fronts in the rear (not sure tho)..

I picked up a pair of springs from the wreckers for $75 .. so thats $150 for front/back, castor wedges ($60), center pins with longer heads ($20).. extended brake lines ($20 x used 2nd hand stock lines doubled up)..

with a bit of fiddling you can get a good pack with little expence (compared to custom springs)..

for example:

rear end (60 vs 2" lift 40 springs)
