Anyone know where it is on the TD42?? been lookin at the diagrams, but I got more chance of waking up to 30 supermodels than being able to read wiring diagrams...

theres one 1/2 way down the front engine cover on the passengers side of the front, that appears to be the camshaft sensor or is this the crankshaft sensor..??

photos would be lovely if you have any, or if anyone knows where exactly it is in the downloadable manuals.

thanks

Hey mate,

went through my workshop manusl and could not find the crank position sensor in it but my book on ly covers up till sept 2004.
went and had a look at the timing cover on my 06 patrol ute and found the sensor you were talking about.
That is definately the crankshaft sensor or otherwise known as crank angle sensor, it is common for them to read of the camshaft.

cheers bud

yea cheers...
found the issue, the "professionals" that did the box swap have cooked the tacho with too many volts.... useless Cookie. I remembered them sayin they had tried 12v when it only takes 4-5v :bad-words: :bad-words: :bad-words: :bad-words: :bad-words: :bad-words: :bad-words: :bad-words: :bad-words: :bad-words: :bad-words: :bad-words: :bad-words: :bad-words:

I assumed it could be that since the wires have been stripped nad left stripped and not taped up - pretty much on par with the rest of it.

thanks for looking appreciate it.
