gday

just fiddling with the idea of putting a dash switch on the rear interior light so i can turn it on and off on from the drivers seat.

Any ideas what path the wiring take and where it comes out.

cheers

The wire runs from the rear light across to the drivers side then along the inside of the lining to the A pillar then it goes down the inside of the pillar to a plug just near the fuse box it also picks up the front interior light on the way. Take off the pinch well from around the door frame (front or back drivers side) pull the hood lining back and the wires are about 2 inches up from there.

By completing the circuit via earth to the body?

i could understand that if there was one just one door switch but there is one on each door.

i mite be missing something simple but im starting to think that there must be a control box of some sort??

Nope no control box. Each pins just earths the light to the body.
Negative switching.

The light bolb has power all the time but it only gets earthed when a door switch is opened.
