You wouldn't consider a turbo for your 3b..........Dazz

where are you, and get a turbo and 35s
should be pretty straight forward i guess. might aswell go a chev 6.2L diesel while your at it. probably cost the same to put in.

i dont belive the money to power is worth it were i would rather put a turbo on the 1hz and a five know im speed yeah its a lotta money but it would be a lotta power . I have priced the 6.2 chev from a qld base firm and for a rebuilt motor and fitting kit was up around the 10 grand plus mark . i do relise that the 1hz and g box rebuilt and fitting is not cheap .have also learnt that if you kill a chevy the eng block is around the 4 -4.5 grand mark also one person was getting 24ltrs to the hundred km and they are old yanky technology and also have mate who owns a automatic repairs shop and had a guy who fitted one to a 80 series had spent 18 grand on a chevy and still wasnt running right
ps im on the central coast and i am a diesel mechanic plus already running 33x12.5 wranglers

Heres a US 6.2 chev conversion into a 40. Looks like it needs more work to me but its sumthing to look at. Dont forget its a LHD vehicle

13B-T is a better swap into that vehicle than the 1HZ; if you want to turbo start with a direct injected engine - if you want to keep it toyota, that means 13B-T, 12H-T, or 1HD-(F)T. with an indirected engine you are restricted in the amount of boost you can reliably run - to about 10psi before you hit the limits of pumping all that air through the precombustion orifices. shop around for a 13B-T with a H55F 5 speed, will be as close to bolt in as possible, put a good turbocharger on, intercool it, boost it up to 17psi and you'll have more power and torque than a turbo'd 1HZ.
you're right to stay away from the chev V8's, they are pretty ordinary in performance and reliability and the conversion is deadly expensive especially if you're paying someone like linQuip to do it all. their work is good and at those prices it'd want to be.
cheers

if you find a money tree, get a 15B-T motor - 4.1 litre 4 cylinder direct injected turbo - with some love (bigger snail, intercooler, propane) think 250HP - they are in Mega Cruisers and maybe big dyna trucks?
ecconomy

which engine would be better for ecconomy? between these three? 13B-T, 12H-T, or 1HD-(F)T.
sorry...i know it's an old thread.

seem to remember the new dyna truck the boss had a couple of years ago had a 15B-t
confused me, cause i thought at that capacity itd have to be a 6 (or 1hz) but no, it was a 15B-T
anyone played with an 11B out of the older style of dyna? they were pretty torqy from memory
