Is it just me or are all sammis wt? just looking at some of the american sites and they all seem to be wt and none have transfer hand brakes.
is this correct or am i just lost?
ps is there any other differences with sammi running gear?

X2 yep you're basically right.
North American standards didn't permit a transmission drum brake so that's why the WT's have wheel mounted park brakes.
To get around this in Canada they ran a rear diff lock that cable actuated with the transfer case drum, and full floating rear axles. Unfortunately, the lock isn't strong enough to drive the car on.
There's lots of sierra wierdness around the world, but mechanically, basically, the US market is the same as our WT. Bear in mind that carbs etc are different and sierras were EFI (TBI) in the US after 1991 for emissions.
