Korando fuel gauge problem

Has anybody had any experience with SSangyong/Musso/Korando electricals?

I've been asked to try 'n fix the fuel gauge on a mate's bro' in-law's Korando beast. So far I've ascertained that the actual gauge IS working ok...problem is most likely in the sender unit in the tank.

It seems to have a combo fuel pump/sender unit...I think the brand is KAFUS, seems only to be used in Korean vehicles. Does anybody have a curcuit diagram for one of these things? ...OR can anybody tell me if they're even fixable or replaceable with a cheaper non genuine unit? ....would rather try to keep the cost down as much as possible, so will try to avoid buying a replacement if at all possible.

Thanks in anticipation,

Wreckers wanted $300+ for a 2nd hand one, new one, if you can get it is somewhere around $700-$800 ...anyway, I pulled it all apart and found the spring-loaded contact on the sender had broken and fallen off...cheap cr@p!...so we sent it off to an instrument maker/repairer who fabbed up a replacement for $70 ....still a bit pricey, but the fella has to make a living and it's a sh!t load cheaper than replacing the whole thing.
