Zook G16B engine price?

OK, a question....

How much could I expect to fetch for a no-longer working G16B?

I've had to bite the bullet and source a replacement motor for the Vitara. Found out yesterday my old head is cracked, so managed to get hold of a G16A for a real good price...just don't have the time or money to waste on
continuing with the fix on the old one.

I've been offered what I think is a decent price for the old one as is (still pulled down), but just wanna make sure neither of us is gettin' dudded in the deal.

Just another quick question...or 2... what's the difference between the A and B donks? ...and could I just hook up my G16B computer to the existing EFI on the G16A ???

well ... a 1.3 head will work on a 1.6 block .. AFIK the 16a and B a very similar and the comp will work just fine .. .

have no idea what a short block in pieces is worth .. a coupla hundred perhaps ( all I would pay for it )

I just bought a complete untested Carbed 1600 for $200 from a wrecker. It came out of a vit that had an interior fire that also came through the firwall and slightly burnt the dizzy and melted the Airfilter. From inspections so far it appears to be purfect. Should know in a few weeks when we fit it to a mates sierra.

Yeah, I always thought the A was carby and B EFI, but it seems it isn't the case...
all I've been able to find out is that there were some internal changes made somewhere along the way...??

Anyway, thanks for the info...prolly the fella that wants mine will mate it up to a 1300 head, I spose.

G16A = 8 valve, G16B = 16 valve

The difference between an A & B motor is the letter stamped after G16
Pistons and conrods between the two are interchangable.
A heads bolt onto B blocks etc.

I still haven't been able to work out the difference between the 2, other than that the A has "G16A" stamped on the block, and that the writing on the inlet manifold says "Electronic PETROL injection" instead of "Electronic FUEL Injection"...My G16A is definitely a 16 valve...apparently the A ran in production until abt 1994, the B for a bit longer.... :armsup: :armsup: :?
