Any one help please!
I have my Taft 4x4 '95 whizzing when the speed begins 40km/h and noise increased as the speed goes up. If front propeller removed the noise is gone. Need any one help what cause and where the noise come from?
I have checked the gearbox, worn bearings were replaced and gears are in good condition.
Thanks,
Lubis

Hi lubisch.....
Not familiar with a Taft, do you know wether it was sold under another name in other countries ?
People may be able to make suggestions then.

The Taft is a Scat i think
but im pretty sure they stopped making them way before 95 (85??) tho ...
I would check the front universal joints for play see if one of them is slogged out as they can cause a wooshing/grumbling/rumbling/bumbling/whizzing sound

Does it have free wheeling hubs? In other words, is the front prop shaft turning during on road use? If so, check for a fatigued splash plate drooping and touching the propshaft. I had this prblem on my Rocky, and it took forever to find. It was especially bad in reverse, because this caused the front end to drop under acceleration, and the splash plate to rub harder.

I am very sure Taft (in Indonesia) similar with Rugler or Feroza but Feroza in Indonesia only 2x4 with normally gas engine.
