Hardcore stuff and daily driving aren't compatible.
When you're heavily restricted with mods it's hard to go past a sierra for capability

This question come up all the time and realistically it depends on your personal preferences.
My personal choice (obviously) would be the sierra, but I don't have any kids and not much need for long distance driving and don't give a stuff how it drives on road.
The 4 runner will be best on road, followed buy a solid axle hilux and then a sierra. They are probably easiest to modify for hardcore offroading in the opposite order.

Do you know what a decent size tyre is on a sierra? You don't need 35's on a sierra as it will go anywhere a bigger rig will with smaller tyres.

which is exactly why I said that.
Sierras have such small diffs and are so light that they can do much more with smaller tyres.
A sierra on a 31" tyre will have the same diff clearance as a landcruiser on 38" tyres. (I've measured it)
