Hi anyone wired up a rear spotlight off a rear barn door on a GU Patrol. Just not sure where would be best to run the wiring, as in do I drill a hole through the barn door or is their another place I can tap in.

Most drill a hole then go to Clark Rubber for a plug/bung and push thru... Thats the neatest/easiest.

I wanted to find that coily wire like Kaymar use on their lightpoles, but its worth 2 new cars per ft for anything worth while (Im using an old spotty with twin 55w globes.).

Due to the amount of steel inside the barn door of the Patrol. You have to be careful where you put the hole. Looking from inside the door. Locate where the bolts come through from the wheel carrier. You will see a small hole in the support structure between the two bottom bolts. Drill through from the inside through the outer skin of the door. Paint the exposed steel and put in a rubber grommet. You can then run the cable from inside the car through the existing cable duct (The one that the power cable for the wipers run through.) through the grommet and up to your light. I got some of the spiral cable from Jaycar. If you don't already have one, get the ARB wheel relocation bracket. This allows you to fit a larger spare tyre as well as being a great mounting point for a light pole. My light runs off 2 relays and a switch so it works automatically as a reverse light as well as having a manual switch for camp light duties.
