bigger tires and axles strength

I'v read the tech/info database but i want some info from the real life.
What about the strength of the axles at 35" and 33" tires? Are 35" forbidden for the Gen1? Power is not a problem (or is it? ) Just needing some info from people that wear these... I'm planing 33" but 35" are also tempting. Anyway i don't like the idea to ruin a trip to the woods with broken axles at the first difficult spot. A guy gave me the idea to change to the Gen2 axles. What do you think?

on the gen 2, well the 3.0 v6 and 2.5td, rear axles are a weak link. on franks jabber it was a broken axle that caused his roll and destroying the body on his paj. i have a gen 2 and am planing 35s. ive already had them on it previously but have found the power to be a bit lacking, but i have afew ideas to counter this. im also going to be getting stronger axles made.

id stick with 33s to begin with. if your only on 31s or somthing they will provide a noticable improvement that will keep you happy for a while.

33's on a gen 1..... i have 33's BFG muddies on mine at the moment... off-road u need to change the diff ratio or get some crawler gears because u move to fast as in 1st gear low range goin down hills doesnt slow you down enough and u have to move pretty fast over rocks to get over them without stalling... also depends how you drive... second off-road trip on 33's broke the passenger front CV... steering gets harder when off-road... accelerating is sluggish... but in the end it depends on what you wnat to get out of your truck..
