you'll get away with 10psi without a problem.

you could probably get 15 out of it safely also

Check you EGT's, 10 psi at 650 deg c is worse than 15 psi at 500 deg c

Read up on OLDMAV's posts on Patrol4x4.com, 1993 - 1998 have weaker rods and pistons and wont take as much boost as the early TD42's.

If you are a member of Patrol4x4.com post up a question to OLDMAV or PM him.

Amazes me what can be learnt here on this forum. I have (hopefully) one of the stronger TD42's, it's a '92 model, and have been searching and googling like crazy about aftermarket turbo info, with little to no oil consumtion, and a reasonably tick and rattle free motor, would 310k be ok to do a kit??

Get the engine compression tested, that is like a blood pressure for me or you.

Adrian you motor should have oil squirters and heavier grade pistons, so it should be good for higher boost if it is in good condition.

the rods and pistons busting wont really matter till you get really high in the boost range (new turbo type boost). just concentrate on keeping the egts right. i doubt you will want to run over 15psi of boost in your daily driver so just watch EGTs
