just a visual reminder to everyone to remember to wash down your vehicle after you go to the beach and make sure you do those little general maintenance items.

In comes 30000 km service on a prado
Image

after opening the bonnet i knew this was trouble.....

after lifting the car in the air i found the bash plate mounts had rusted off and what i saw wasn't pretty......
Image
in some spots it was possible to chip a hole through the chassis with a screwdriver if i was so inclined
Image
some really good rust on suspension mounting items......
Image
ill let you guess what the exhaust leak was due to .....
Image
the scariest thing was that this car is constantly used for towing and the towbar mounts have almost rusted through

These photos don't do justice to the amount of damage done to the vehicle simply due to laziness!

not really specific daihatsu tech but i think is a good reason to pay some more attention to our vehicles.

p.s if anyone was wondering, the customer was well informed about the state of their vehicle and has been recommended to have the car towed to a wreckers or set it on fire.

A)How do you get and keep so much sand INSIDE your engine bay on a newish prado?!?!

B) How do you not WASH IT OUT AFTERWARDS   ?? Surely its got to be a company car? No one can be that silly?

as you can see from the guard covers its a lexus dealership and the guy has 2 lexus as well. he obviously has more money than sense and just uses this as his "run around". still no excuse to let your car get to a point where its dangerous for the other road users

Suddenly I'm not so worried about the rust in my car. Thankyou!
