ok here's the deal i got stuck in a really deep bog hole on the weekend an on the way home my patrol started boiling but didnt get to hot. i went to car lovers an gernied out the radiator an it sort of made a difference cause after that it sat on an even 3/4 temp then the guage stopped working so i bought a new temp sender an thermostat jus to be sure an still the same. the fan is ok an the radiator is jus over a year old an i jus it flushed an its fine the waterpump is fine so now i tried cutting the centre out of the old thermostat an i blocked off the hole under the thermostat the 1 that wen the thermostat is opened it closes it an still it runs at 3/4
ive pressure tested it an tk tested it an its ok

does any1 have any advice that may help???

im gonna pull the radiator out tomorrow an gerny the whole core out an see if the aircon condensor has anymore mud in it but im sure its ok

Hey mate try pulling your viscous fan off and take it to a radiator joint, if it does not have enough oil in it the fan will not engage as much as its meant to causing your temp to rise to around 3/4.
Failing that i would replace your themostat you will probably find it takes you about 15 minutes for your car to warm up in the mornings now with the centre of it cut out haha and give your radiator a good flush and make sure theres no mud blocking it and the fins arent all bent, put it back together and pressure test it all again.

try replacing the cap. its often overlooked but it only costs a few bucks and it can often solve the problem? it may just be the fact that the overflow part of the cap is stuffed and is not allowing the coolant to return as the engine cools down. had the same problem on my td42
