GVM of say 2500kgs for example with a payload of 1000kgs.... does this mean legally you can have a total loaded vehicle weight of 3500kgs or have I got this totally arse-about-face???

The car is 1500 and you can carry 1000 which makes it 2500kg

Gross = Total

Man my 85 lux was scary way before the 1 tonne limit was reached. be prepared for a vehicle that will handle like jelly.

Also make sure if you have got softer springs in it to increase flex, that you dont over load them and stuff them.
