Outer Limits 4x4 Board

Hi everyone,

I have an LN106 hilux and the gearbox has let go. There is a loud grinding metal sound in every gear.

Im pretty sure it is running the standard G52 gearbox as it also has the standard 3L 2.8 Diesel.

I would just like to know what is the newest hilux i could source a suitable gearbox out off? For example will a gearbox from behind a 5L 3.0 Litre work? or on the other hand an older gearbox from say a 2L 2.4 Litre.

Im hoping as they are L series engines, the spline count and bolt paterens should match.

Any 5 speed from an 84 model up to a 97 model solid axle should be fine. An LN106 I heard is a strong one but they do break. Mine let go in 3rd gear.
