Hi Guys

Would a Johnny Joint handle the loads if used at the chassis end of a radius arm? I want to make new radius arms that attach behind and below the transmission crossmember on my GQ. They will end up about 1100mm from axle to chassis end. I was thinking of using a big johnny style joint at this end. I know the radial or push pull loads will be fine but what about sideways/axial loads? The ball on the joint will be about 2" and the OD of the joint, basically the ring on the raius arm will be just over 3".

Thanks

Thanks guys, I also thought so but it doesn't hurt to ask. Will post as soon as it is done. The radius arm will be made out of 32mm thick 650MPa Roqtuf, very similar to your Bizalloy.

Thanks again.
