3rz Questions

Can anyone tell me what the sender on the left hand side of a hilux gearbox does which goes into the engine wiring harnes of a 3rz.? I have fitted a 3rz to a ln65 and have this plug left over. (I'm running the origional gearbox). Also can someone tell me how to retreive fault codes from this engine, and Where can I find a list of what each fault means? Any help would be great.
