Swapping spring ends around

Hello all. As some may know...

I am playing with my spring packs once again, I have a few different sets, a few different sizes all 50mm wide though.

Now my main question is, Is it ok the swap the ends of the springs around to suit my needs?
I am after more flex in spua
Chassis mounts (on the middle section of the chassis only) will be extended for the springs, Shackles will be using original mounts but shackles are twice the size of the norm.
Shocks will be remounted.
Front diff will be 25mm Forward. Rear only 15mm Back.(too many dramas clearance etc)

Example, a stock sierra springs + bushings front to back, chassis in middle
* o_______0 ============ 0_________o

Now i want
* o_________0 ========== o____________0

Sorry bout the crap way of showing....Note the 0 is the big bush, o is the little one :oops:

How much longer are you talking , massive spring length changes without a stiffer spring will make your truck very floppy on road , they will provide more flex but your better of putting your efforts into traction aids , flex is limited to the size of the vehicle and sierra's don't need massive flex , you need to provide power to each wheel , Cheers Paul.

The main reason im wanting to turn them around is because the original location hole on these other springs would be more convinient the other way around.

The springs will be tested and repacked to suit, Too soft, put another leaf in..

Also the shocks will have to do their thing on road, Will get adjustables..

And on road i was thinking of running the original swaybar but with a disconnect on the front only.

Springs to chose:

Original fronts. 940 centre to centre
Original rears. 1015

Mazda 323 wagon. 1105
Ke55 Rolla's. 1155
Ke70 Rolla Wagon. 1210 (thicker leaf 7mm. All others 6mm)

I had the original rears as ruf, And the mazdas rears before, They were perfect, Stable as, climbed easier on the exact same track as now then the 2" kingcrap...
But i bent the mazda springs because i didnt know how to pack them...Trial and error :roll: I now know how to....

But im still wondering if i can get more flex still :twisted:

with that kind of illustration, i'd say RUF and hilux fronts in rear...

that said though - mines fully engineered SPOA on hilux fronts all round - front diff is about 6" forwards and rear is about 1" back... all mounts have to be taken off though - lux leaves are around 2.25" wide, and WAY longer (about 6" longer than zuk rears).

they flex like you wouldnt believe too! (see link THE UFO below).

are you running the rear springs backwards? check if they will open up under power. if they don't you should be right.

hmm ok

i just wanna stay the 50mm for easier fitting... The ruf and mazdas flexed better....Hilux look to be too much work.

Just going to rebend and repack the mazdas in the rear now..
