diff housing dint

hit a stump.
put a dint in my housing.
if i strip the centre out can i bash the dint out?
and how difficult is it to do?

front or rear? is the dent in the centre or is it in the axle tube.

Just put a block of wood on the inside of the ding and bash away.

wat about rippin the centre out?
would it be worth welding the centre while im in there?

could be, while you have the welder out n diff apart. id also look at bracing the diff and protecting the pumpkin too

Have a had few dint's in my diff pumpkin for years......If it's not hittin teeth it doesn't matter does it?

you will have to pull both axles out. its not hard, but alot of stuffing around just to bash out a small dent. maybe wait until you need to do your wheel bearings or when you break a CV
Welding centre: imo no
Welding on a bashplate: definitely.

how will it go with a welded diff with hubs locked but not in 4x4? as in traveling between between hills, bog holes etc in the bush? will it push the front through corners? its very hilly where i wheel and iv already been in a rolux tumble down a 50 ft cliff and didnt enjoy it

Dents in the housing will also reduce your oil capacity.
