Has anyone here fitted a snorkel to a 2.8TD GQ before? I have been looking at the Airflow one for $325 and was going to fit it myslef (no probs) but the kit does not include new aircleaner housing. Do I have to cut off and cover up existing intake on filter housing and cut new entry hole?
Anyone done it?

Yep.
I did mine a few months ago.
I got the kit that modified the original Air cleaner housing.
TIP.... make sure that all the templates are in exactly the right place...double check and double check.
Take your time and it works well ....and is not hard at all really
I used a jigsaw with a metal cutting blade on it to cut out air cleaner template....but trimming still needs to be done with tinsnips and dremel grinder.
I have also since installed a 3inch in/out Donaldson air cleaner which is just a bit better than standard one...altho the standard one worked OK anyhow.
HTH...n good luck with it.

S49 part number doesnt sound right...n I,m not headin down to the shed to check now ...Too damn cold
I got mine from TJM Orange...and it was under $500 bux from memory ....cant remember exact figure as it was a gift
AFAIK...there are 2 different kits to fit the RD28 GQ...so make sure the one you get is the one you need/want.
