hi all
i don't know if you guys remember a post about me having a problem with my diff making rubbing/wearing sound.
anyway i booked it into a shop and they said they will have a look and i got a call saying i can get a new one for 2k or a second hand one for 1600. i rang around i found out that this was a good price. i decided on getting a second hand one put in.
what do you guys think?
thanks

is that for the axel or diffcenter?
either way 1600 is way too much. a diffcenter 2nd hand will usualy be around the 450

$450 my arse! Got my front for 100 bucks, rear for 50!
Shop around guys!!!! And Haggling is a must! I do it with 2 main suzuki wreckers.....
Fit it yourself if you have the tools, Simple job, Just alittle time consuming..

hi
that is right i have a 96 swb vitara
and yes i did shop around and the other shops said that it would be that price or more for a rear.
im doing it through wangara brake and clutch. i no it says brake and clutch but they lean towards 4wds. and they have been recommended by other companies.

what would explain the high cost of the diff.
the above wreckers are the only all zook wreckers in perth and the first usually to try.

Both of those are wreckers, Suzuki shop in Cannington is usually very good on price.

I just bought a financial wreck, SWB 94 Vitara with 115ks on the clock, 2,000 for the lot, will cost about 1500 to get it back on the road.
a grand for the diff, wow, I should strip it n sell the diffs, then I get a very low K fuel injected motor, gearbox n transfer case free, and still have some perfect stuff to sell.
hmmmm.
