Extractors????

hey all
im up for a new set of extractors as i left my engine mounts to long broken and i have a big fat crack in my current extractors....so wot type should i go for?
i had a quote for advance $320
its for the 2.8d 3l motor:)

just go for hurracine or geniue? bigger names?

also is it worth gettin a new exhaust to give it a bit better soudn...or u really carnt do much with the diseal to give it a better note?

Save the money on extractors an have it turboed, then you'll get a great note outta it :D

I got my genie extractors from the wreckers for $80.

Refit the standard manifold and have a 3" pipe all the way back with a nice flow through muffler.

It'll breath well and have a thumper note.

I agree with the turbo idea; just get your old extractors welded up then save for a turbo.

yea man turbo for sure. ill sell you mine we just gotta get it checked out to make sure there are no iron filings in it from big birds blow up!!! mines got a 2.5 inch outlet on it. ive got a manifold for it buts its for a 2l. doubt it will fit.

i had an extractor crack not so long ago, the removed them, fro the head, welded it, put in a new gasket, fixed some other stuff, and a new high flow mufler for 200

how much would a turbo cost for a 2L 18r hilux New and secondhand?

woudl ove a turbo but i duno if 390 000ks on the clock is a good idea to start to turbo now:) i thinks i will be up for a new engine quicker!

it's not economically viable. turboing old carburetted petrol engines is expensive and difficult to get right, yiu just wouldn't do it - not to mention the 18R is a bit soft and doesn't really stand up to forced induction for any length of time, especially if it is old.

if you really wanted a turbo you'd have to look at swapping in a full turbo engine, either petrol or diesel, it would cost the same and have far better results over trying to turbo your current donk.
