Gday guys,

Am looking to see if anyone is interested in getting some stuff from rovertym engineering in the states.

The cost of shipping for one or two items is heaps, But the guys at rovertym said the more items we can get the less shipping etc.

So have a look at there website and let me know if your interested.

http://www.rovertym.com/

I will get a list together to send to rovertym and they can get a shipping quote.

Cheers

Darren

I would strongly recomend a group buy. Some time ago I sent this mob 3 emails wanting to buy a body lift kit and they never got back to me with any prices etc

if someone has gotten thru to them, take advantage of it.

I have seen some of their stuff and it is good

hey dassaw, im not interested in anything from rovertym, but im wanting a JD2 tube bender, im just wondering if it were possible to get a bender sent to rovertym to put in with the other stuff you guys are buying. obviously ill contribute for postage, which helps everyone. ive been quoted upto the $250+ mark just for postage alone!! for that price im almost best just getting here in aus.

Let me know if you think my suggestion is possible?

Ok, well to the guys who asked "when is this going to happen?"

hopefully soon, within the next few weeks depending on when they get back to me and we finalise exactly what we want etc.

UNJUST, I will look into seeing if they can fit the bender into our lot of items, I guess it depends on how much we order and how big their pallets are etc.

Ill let you know how I go.

Cheers

UNJUST, ask them if they are using a courier(like fedex, UPS or BAX Global). if they are, ask them if they will send it USPS PRIORITY and see if there is a cost difference.

Ok finally heard back from them, He said they can get a full skid to Brisibane for $490.

But he didnt mention how much stuff will fit on said skid!

So im waiting to hear back from him on that.

Any ideas how we could get it from brisibane to Melbourne?

Apparently it is heaps cheaper for him to send it to brisibane than sydney or melb.

Will keep you posted.

A skid is a small pallet generaly less than 1mt x 1mt .
Now here is the fun bit for you, Say it comes in to bris and you want it in Melb but at the moment I'm in Mackay so will you then reship it on to everyone else??
I'm not trying to be a party pooper I'm just curious.

Yeah Im guessing thats what he means by a "skid".

But ill wait till he gets back to me to be 100%sure.

Thanks for letting me know disco95.

Yeah getting it down to melbourne will be interesting, mihgt have a mate who has access to freight for his business, will look into it.

Yeah maybe its just easier if I only get people from melb involved, then dont have to worry about splitting loads halfway down etc etc.

wait and see.

Gday guys,

Doesnt look like this is going to happen.

I havent heard from rovertym in weeks, and that is after repeated emails.

So Im guessing they dont want or need our business very much.

Sorry about that, maybe we should try rover tracks.

cheers

About 1 hour after I wrote the last message, Steve from Rovertym emailed me and said he can get a skid to Melb for $550 US.

The Skid will fit heaps of stuff, So I need to get a proper list together now.

Let me know what you want, the more people the less postage we all pay.

Not sure how it is going to work for people not in Melbourne. As items may need to be thn shipped to Sydney etc.

Let me know what you want and or what you think.

Cheers

What about GST and duty? AFAIK, once the value goes over $1000 you will have to pay that on top.

what about if rovetyrm can state the products ar eonly worth $900?

Would it be the receipt that customs looks at?

Waiting to hear back from roverym about duty and tax etc.

It's 5% + GST on the landed price in AU$

The threshold is AU$1000 on the landed price.

so if freight is $550 landed, they'll have to write the value down to about USD$300.

Unless the commercial invoice is very carefully worded and talks about demonstration, warranty return or something, 5 minutes on google are going to prove a skid full of shiny stuff is worth more than USD$300.

Sorry to butt in to the thread.

Steve.

Yeah I see you point steve.

Hopefully rovertym have some idea about this.

otherwise even with the 5% and gst it will still be alot cheaper than what it is to buy stuff in smaller quantity's.
