NJ Recovery Point

I'm a bit confused about recovery points on my '94 NJ paj. The front one is quite obvious however i'm not sure what to do with the rear. It has a rear towbar which attaches to both chassis rails and then also the four holes in the middle, however when the towbar is on it greatly reduces departure angle. So, if i remove the towbar assembly what can i use? Can i use just the four holes in the centre and get a hook made up to bolt on? Or is there another rear recovery point which i'm missing somewhere else?
Thanks

I have seen cars with hooks made up to fit the place you are talking about. My towball hangs lower than that still as its mounted to its own bracket beneath the bumper! I really need to look at removing it when its not being used.

i got one from a GQ (i think) Pootrol factory front bumper, and bolted it through the driver side chassis rail at rear with high tensile bolts. hangs just below the rear bumper. It has taken some severe snatching operation
the pootrol item is a large hook (bout 20mm) OD welded to a piece of plate. will take pic if i remember

The hook sounds like a good deal, as you can then hook the snatch strap loop directly to it. With a D loop you still need to use a shackle to make the join.
From the factory, Gen 2 Pajeros came with a D loop mounted to those four holes. Try wreckers and/or dealers?

And this will be strong enough? I had a look at the ORE one and it's pretty beefy!

Have you seen the factory loop?
Mitsubishi Club of Queensland recommended them as recovery points - they have never had a problem with them. I'm pretty certain the Pajero Club of Victoria is happy with them too.

They look like quite a good hook but if you are going to be doing serious pulls then putting a proper hook on would make sense.....
Remember when you attach a rope to the eye you need a shackel. And if something was to go awol then I think that's the last thing you'd want to meet.

yeah fair call NJV6, i don't think i'll be doing too much hectic stuff, but still gotta have it for pulling out other idiots in their patrols etc
Wonder how much they'd be from a wrecker - i've put a wanted ad in too.
