Hey,
What year did the troopy go coil spring front. Was it 2000? From what I can find that seems to be the case.
Are there really huge advantages in the coils or will leaves be virtually as capable?
Just thinking of upgrading to a newer model soon but I don't know how new to go.

1999 was the update to the 78/79 series.
Ive driven both, lots, and often back to back.
There is NO comparison- the coil front end shits all over the leaves for ride comfort, cabin space and offroad ability.
i take my work 79 places that the older 75's cant get too because they keep lifting wheels

cabin space? Really?
Well I'll go have a loog at a few then..
So the 78 and 79's are coil but all 75's are leaf?

Yep 75's are leaf.
I think he means cabin space in the cab chassis variant rather than the Troopie.

The leaves in 78's and 79's are about 180mm longer too which heaps with the ride quality too

Yeah cant really afford anything newer than 97 so i'll have to stick with leaves... but I'll keep an eye out for them. not in a huge rush to get one.

Yeh, I'm fairly sure that the newer cab on the cab/chassis has a longer interia than the old 75.
