Hey guys, I got myself into jam last night and had to get myself towed out. And I had myself in Low when I got stuck and now it outright refusing to move. Just wondering how that's possible? My Low has always been a little tempremental and slipping out but now it's stuck good and not moving to any attempt to disengage.

Crawl underneath and see if there is anything jamming it. The popping out of low is because the little stick is hitting the body work is it?

I know this sounds crazy, but is the transfer lever broken at the bottom?
I got stuck in low the other day, couldn't get it out, and when i finally did, i couldn't get it back in.
Got home and crawled underneath, and looked like the stick was disjointed where it meets the selector. when i pulled the rubber boot off, i noticed that the circle end that wraps around the selector had broken enough to not move it, but not enough to come off. so i still couldn't move the stick, but it wouldnt change gear.
Fixed it with a pice of copper oil line.
Twisted it tight to hold it on. went out tonight, and it is still holding
Hope this helps.

I'm hoping it's something like that. Given the position my 4x4 was sitting that's starting to seem like a good posibility. Even trying to snatch it out may have contributed to that. Guess I'll find out tomorrow once I have some light.
Cheers for the help so far.

I know this might sound silly but drive it backwards until the lever pops back into neutral (thats if nothing is jamming & the linkage is hooked up).
This is the remedy for axle wind up, my old 40 used to always do it, could never get the bugger out unless I drove back & my old MK used to do it occaisionally.

I would check your up/down transfer stick guide. A few months back i was on a drive and couldn't get mine into low range - not for the life of me. We stopped for smoko so i started pulling the cover and boots off the gear sticks. It turns out that the rear bolt in the up/down guide for the transfer had fallen out, which allowed the guide to drop down and stop the transfer stick from going all the way back.
For the 5 minutes it takes - its worth a look. Check it from under the car though, it will save you destroying your floor covers.
