Hey,
Has anyone heard of PREMFLEET 2-pac paint, Made by by premier coatings in south africa.
It is apparantly a hard wearing metallic 2-pac that does not require clearcoat, is designed for trailers, trucks, etc.
Wondering if it would be any good on a 4WD compared to automotive enamel with hardener added?
thanks

hey killa
as a spray painter by trade any 2pac paint would be better than enamel.
enamel is cheap shit ,it does have its place though. enamel will paint over dirt grease rust flakey surfaces usually used for cheap machinery tart ups.
2 pac is a two part poly urathane acryic enamel is far superior to enamel but it is a much fussier product you need a clean wax and grease free surface properly rubbed surface and idealy a temperature close to 20 - 25 degrees .its much more critical that recote times are watched to avoid runs.I would suggest that the 2 pac you refer to has the clear component already in it which could make it mottle (look a little patchy) if not applied evenly. a tecnique called cross haching would be your best bet when spraying.
ive never heard of the brand of 2 pac but ive sprayed lots of paints ive never heard of the technique is always similar and ive never seen a really bad 2 pac product yet thats not to say tha some are not better than others you get what you pay for
hope this helps
cheers andrew
