The roof of my FJ40 is leaking. The channel inside fills up when it rains and having had the same problem in another one years ago i figure it is a common problem. I assume that I need a new seal (where to get one?) and how do you refit the roof so that the problem doesnt come back? Or is it also a design fault and the actual roof needs to be sealed??? Anyway, all and any advice will be appreciated.
Cheers. Jackson.

all you do is clean first and run some white silicone around the inside of the gutter ( if your roof is white)
if its another color, you will need to get some seam sealer and then paint it afterwards.

Seal it with silicon you say. Is this because it leaks through the cracks where the steel meets the fibreglass and the bolts are underneath? Or would it also be coming under where the rubber seal is? The overall condition of the seal and roof is very good.
Cheers.

by little rusty
my old roof used to let water flood in - rear left corner. The seal was fine just the fusted steel gutter had started to split. Water would pool on the gutter outside then seep through the crack. I picked up a shorty roof in great nic from a wrecker for $100. Cheap and easy option over trying to fix current one if you an find a replacement. I tried sealing it and never worked

its more than likely coming in from the gutter to fibreglass roof join, or the rviets.
before you apply any sealer or silicone, make sure you clean it very well with wax and grease remover.
