finally found some good wide track diffs at a good price WOOHOO
My question is
do I change the spring mounts on the diff ? good for more flex I hear and easy to do
or change spring mounts on chassis?
The reason I ask is i am spring over with about 5 inches of lift
I aready get pretty good spring deflect from spoa
whats the advantage in moving chassis mounts if any??
hitting springs if moving springs out is not a issue as my wheels are custom backspaced(a lot)
85 nt hard top'32's huge backspace rims,spoa 5"' locked
cheers andrew

WIDE TRACK DIFFS INTO NARROW TRACK
WIDE TRACK DIFFS INTO NARROW TRACK
85 high roof 1.3, 6.5 tc, air lockers, ruf and 34 swampers. yep its an ugly pos.
just move the perches which I would assume your doing anyway because your spoa.
too much work in moving the spring mounts on chassis if you don't have to and I also doubt that you will notice much difference in the flex from having them in nt spacing to wt spacing.
in theory you will get more leverage using the nt spacing therefore more flex but are you really going to see the difference of maybe an inch extra travel at the wheel so proably about a quater of an inch at the springs?
the closer to stock the less potential dramas you have.
a qustion for you. is your zook currently spoa with 5 inch lifted springs aswell?
or do you mean spring over which is 5" of lift?
just you say spoa with 5" of lift
thats a tall suzuki
just some thoughts

yeah sorry germo.
i have approx 5" of lift plus tyres
I strated with a kit I imported from rocky road outfitters approx 8" lift
It had bolt on spoa lifted springs 1.5" and ext shackels much longer shocks lines and drive spacers it was ok but on narrow diffs it was way too tippy.
I started by using 2" wheel spacers on cj jeep 8" offset rims and it was heaps better. In the end though I had my wheels altered so I have 1"backspace and removed the ext shackels.
in the last 6 months of use I have half trashed the rancho springs in the kit so now they are near flat maybe even slightly past flat so at my best guess im about 5" liftedi its great in really deep rutted tracks as nothing touches the ground but diff centers.
thats why Im changing to wide track to try and get a couple more inches of width also with so much width past the steering knuckle it has a huge sweep on wheel turn and touches the firewall on lock if you hit a large bump and ive already moved the diff forwards a inch.might go from 32's to 35's later for a bit more ground clearance later
cheers asndrew
