B@M shifter in Patrol

Has anyone done this??? i am looking at doing it and was wondering about brackets to suit the cable??? can you buy to suit patrol or do you have to bum around for hours trying to work it out by trial and error.......

Used to have B&M mega shifter in my hilux (308 turbo 700) ,worst thing ever when in the bush
Was always a pain to swap from rev to forward gears an you could'nt just pull it straight from drive to 1st
Standard type factory shifters are far more user friendly when used offroad

I have it on my th400 and it works great...as envy says from rev to D is a bit pain but nothing seriuos for me at leaset...

I was going to have to fully manulise the auto coz i have an after market ecu, so would not have drive anyway. was just hoping to use it like a sequential box. Just not sure on doing the conversion and wanna work everything out before pulling truck apart

there's always a few alternatives anyway
check out a few diff shifters....including brands

you will find some will have like a dual mode?
I dont recall if it was B&M or Hurst, but there was one I had few yrs back that was like a factory auto on the upper position, and a ratchet mode on the lower......which locked out reverse....it had to "pop up"

Even with full manual, u could use the upper while 4wding, allowing easy access to reverse when needed, and when not required, use the ratchet mode.

Either way, you'd be surprised how quickly u can learn to move most ratchet systems.........I've have, and many others have. Just look at many of the cars at Summernats etc doing the grass events (forward and reverse gates etc)
