Outer Limits 4x4 Board

im going to be upgrading my suspension soon and am looking for something a bit more than your average suspenion setups.
im a big trophy truck fan and am interested in incorporating a coilover setup into my hjz105r.
reason being is so ican have more travel, relatively low ride height and lots of sag and down travel.

anyone seen it done or offer any advice?

can anyone reccomend a workshop in wa that would be able to help me?

G'day mate, i personally don't know of any 100's with coilovers so your most likely the first to have them.
If you were in NSW, VIC, QLD you would have some choice on where to go but i'm not familar with WA shops doing work like that so i'm no help there.

You could pm 2dextreme in QLD (dale) about it he has done alot of custom stuff on winch challenge 4x4s, so he might be able to help you out other then that your going to be a 'ground breaker' so good luck with it if you are serious about doing it.

but, just had a look under the rear of it and it dont look too promising. theres not alot of space under there before i have to start cutting into my floor.
the front will be fine, plenty of room up into the engine bay.

I'm curious as to why you want to put coilovers on it if it isn't going to be a comp truck having coils is usually good enough to do some crazy sh!t offroad.

try Proformance, there over your way and are into dessert racing. probably had nothing to do with normal fourby's but will may have a different angle to approach it. this can be good sometimes

round here its not much 4wd tracks, more whooped out sand tracks/fire trails that are a blast to hit at speed. the ironman suspension i got now is only capable of handling medium hits at like 40km.h. so i want a setup that will soak up hits at speed and yet still be a competent 4wd setup.

i also love the huge amount of dunes around here am sick of having to go slow through them.

Sounds like lots of fun but doing that in a 100 is gutsy i reckon you would be better off getting another 4x4 for that kinda driving because even with coilovers the amount of stress put on other parts of the car would mean alot of bracing so it don't end up f#$&ed.

Heres a few pics of an 80 (same chassis basically as a 100) that did Baja around 10 years ago. Not sure if it raced or was just a prerunner. May give you some ideas.

yeh, after putting it up on the hoist and doing some measurements and that, its not really worth it to do it while trying to keep the rear cargo space standard. would only be able to install a 8" travel coilover in the rear.

got my eyes on a old patrol ute for free which would be a perfect candidate for this type or work.
