G'day all,

Had a good search here an else where on internet world and cannot find an answer, sooo, can anyone help me.

I like the look of bushwacker flares, and as I have just bought another suzi, a lil 1.6 injected vitara, I want to lift, add some wheels and flares, but I can only find bushwacker for sierras, anyone know if they are made for vitaras.

If not, does anyone know of similar looking flares.

The bushwacker flares are not made for sierras, They are made for jeeps acctually...

People just cut them to size for the sierras. 2 sets of rears

You would really have to search for more pictures or something for the vitaras. Or once you get them, cut them to suit or something..

Most people just use the rubberflaring as that is normally enough for the vitaras.

But the price they want for them is shocking, especially considering they are in a very vunerable position on the vehicle. My $7 garden edging may look a bit cheap but that's exactly what it is and it works. If I wanted looks I wouldn't be driving a Suzuki

Thanks for that, just tried them, nothing on their web site, but rang, they only have the flat flexi rubber.

This is gunna be more an onroad car, tow me lil boat, leave it at the airport when I go to work etc, so thinking something a bit nicer than on my rat sierra.

Mate has a vitara and has flares that look like they came out from the factory, excellent, moulded around the fuel cap area, rubber inserts tween the flare and the body, really looks good.

Oh well, the search goes on.

The beauty of the various different rubber flares is that when and if you flop it over it can rest on the tyre sidewall still and not do any damage. If it's for a more street orientated rig then i'd go the buskwackers.

I picked up some of them for one of my Vits. They were a genuine Factory accessory back in the day and made from black ABS plastic. There is also a soft version. Your best bet to find some may be on TradeMe, a NZ form of ebay as they pop up there from time to time. Search under Vitara and Escudo as they have lots of Japanese imports over there.

The Piranha flares a very flexy and will take a beating but they are around $750 for a set of 4 and are designed for the Sierra but I think they used some on their Vit. They are a soft version of the Calmini flares and are about 6" wide I think.

Conveyor belt sh!t

I thought my conveyor belt flares looked ok till I read this thread. They're actually "bushwacker" brand with the metal wire in the outside channel.

I wish I could take them off (it looks HEAPS more lifted), but the tyres stick about 20mm outside the factory (silver) flares, damnit.

I think you will find they are Bushranger flexy flares mate. The bush wackers are the ones on the blue vitara with the chrome bits above.

Has anyone used the flares they sell at clarke rubber?

they had two different types (both text screw on style) when i last checked.
A guy i go wheeling with has them on his rocky. worked fine for him. never saged. never tore off either. at about 10bux a metre it may be worth a look.

if you haven't seen them one lot look alot like my standard plastic flares on my NT sierra. i'll be putting these on when i get around to grinding off the flare mounts and cutting the guards a bit

I run larger offset wheels which hang mtr's probably an inch or two outside the standard steel WT flares. Never considered running rubber extensions and never will while i own the car. dont like the look of them and never had any dramas or questions from transport or police.

I've got the clark rubber flare material on mine. It's OK. Mine is the style that screws flat on the panel not on the pinch weld.

and what about other road users that have to put up with stones and mud thrown up from your tyres?
