Outer Limits 4x4 Board

g'day,wanting to get a set of drop boxes for the gq(7'' lift)
been checking out the superier brand ones and the wizard brand ones.
superier ones are a bit dearer! $400 compared to $340 any one got any opinions about either of these?any second hand set for sale?
or should i build a set? any one got plans/measurements/templates for building these??
any help would be appreciated,thanks

Just be carefull there are alot of sooks on here that would rather you have to spend money than have a go yourself.
I am surprised that you haven't been told to do a search yet.
But on the other hand there are people that are very helpful and actualy post on things who want to help.

thanks for that,are both of the plans to suit 4"-5" of lift? if so any idea how much lower the hole would have to be to suit 7" lift?

done a search but couldnt find any thing which compared any of the comercially available boxes

I would just bring the centre down by how much more lift you have.

Hope thats right well it makes sense to bring it down the same distance as the springs have raised it.

Some people might have a sook, but I'd suggest unless you're good at what you're doing you just buy some. These are a critical part of your front suspension, and therefore your saftey.

I went with superior's because they're built well and I know they're not about to fall apart.

That was my justification.

That fair call not sure on anyone elses qualifications but i am an experinced (13 years in the trade) fabricator welder so i have no probs with doing it.
But you are dead right unless you are confident on a welder give it a miss as not only your life is at risk,because if they do fail no steering no brakes and over 2ton of car makes one hell of a mess.

yep,been in the trade for 17 years(boiler maker/welder) no probs doing the job,just hard to find the time with 3 kids to chase after!
