Definately go with the kit, don't even bother trying to fab something, unless you have the skills that is. And yes, it can and does need to be certified in any state

Another vote for the just cruzin kit!

Took me a day to fit to my LWB Vit. And only took that long coz I'm carrying a crook knee around.

admittilly i went the 'make it myself' option at first, sourced and cut up all the steel blocks, there was a link somewhere, drilled all the holes, found the time to get out to the shed on a sat morning. started lifting the body up to slide my MADE blocks in and saw the studs coming off the body. and from the link they say put NUTS on the inside of the R.H.S cut the body studs and bolt the MADE blocks to the body..sounded easy enough the week b4 looking on the computer, but come sat morning with the car all jacked up body off and a night run planned that nite.. it just wasnt going to happen... length of studs, thickness of R.H.S just wasnt going to happen at all (without some reay bootyfab, of the bad kind :D) i was working back and forth from the link and while searching i found the just cruising kit, i found a few others but they were way out of reach price range.. i called him up, went round, gave him the money. went home, fitted it up within a few hours with very little mods and was good 4 the nite run and testing :D :D

sorry for the long winded story but DONT BOTHER MAKING EM YOURSELF its really not worth the hassel.. if i had of rushed into it and cut dowm the suds to suit the rhs who no's where id be..

Just in case you are wondering I make a kit to suit the sierra, pretty easy to fit too. I have sold some kits to ppl on here and they seem happy   :D

Yeah got a kit in my zook. can't fault it EXCEPT word on the rumour mill getting around is that poly body blocks are not legal in victoria? not that i'm complaining! but it may be something to check up on.

I know there was some talk on Auszookers about it...?

It's not a rumor, it's fact. Currently, steel or alloy are the only legal materials.

Just Cruzin' - I know you were pursuing Vicroads over this - any joy?

Steve.

Vic Roads have told me that the engineer authorising the lift was the person responsible for authorising the material, now I have to contact several engineers and find out how will sign off on this material, most I speak to say that Vic Roads won't allow it so it's a never ending circle at the moment. I need to get something in writing from Vic Roads giving the authority to the Engineers

I have a full list of authorising agents in Victoria, but who do most guys use. No use me approaching engineers if they only work on Heavy Vehicles or don't deal with the public.

I bought mine off SUZUKIGAV off here.

same style of kit that just cruising makes but with metal mounts. he didnt have a engineers report for the bolts though (dont know if he does know or not.)

i paid $200 six months ago for it. kit had everything needed (except the rag joint).
