no... tyre diameter will be more than 15mm greater than tallest OE (7.5R16), and the track will be increased by more than 50mm.

i think that qld law says that 2" over standard is the maximum u can go, but i think 32"x11.5 is maximum they wont book you for, unless you were going to fight it in court.

Original Equipment 7.50R16 is listed in the Tyre and Rim Association of Australia Standards Manual as 812mm OD.
812mm+15mm=827mm
If you look on some of the websites you will see 33x12.50R15, 285/75R 6 or 305/70R16 listed around this OD. Just pick one that is within this OD.
Make sure the Load Rating is high enough and that the Speed Rating is minimum N (140km/h).
Alternatively wait until the 1st Jan and you'll be allowed 862mm OD.

cheers guys i am just tryin 2 find out because i got pulled over the other day and the cop reckons that the wheel track is to wide and i am just tryin 2 find out wat 2 do as my car is now defective

if they were sticking out past the guards then that is a defect , screw some garden edging to the guards to cover the tyres , then its legal :roll:

right so the 33" bit isn't the problem it is probably the 12.5" bit that is. Sell them and get 33 x 10.50s.

Or maybe you could find out exactly what the policeman gave you the defect for and then ring the authourities and find out what you can and can't do for your vehicle

if the laws are the same from state to state?? the track measurements are about 1630mm front and 1635mm rear(centre to centre)i think the standard track can only be widened by 50mm, 50mm bigger diameter tyre than standard and maximum rim width of 8"

Is there actually a max for tyre width? As I thought it was a limit to an 8" wide rim. Which 99% of tyre manufactures spec a 33x12.50R15 tyre on a 15x8.5 rim. So you cant run them.
Apparently some engineers had letters from BFG and Cooper maybe, saying there 12.50" wide tyres could be fitted to 8" rims.

The increase in wheel track due to the tyres I thought was fine, if with toyota offset rims.

but yea, if I remember 8's were max on most.

I'd imagine it was proabably because the tyres stuck out past the flares indicating the width of the vehicle had changed

darren tried to get 16x10s engineered on his troopy yrs back, and it came down to he had prove they came out on a similar model o/s or something like that.. he gave up.
