I don't know how well the Prado LSD's work. If they are as good as Patrol LSD's then I would suggest the first locker goes in the front.

Personaly, I don't think they come close to Nissans LSD.... But saying that, they do seem to work.... What if i had no LSD... Easy choice then ?

the prado lsd is the same diff hemisphere as hilux and they aren't very good even brand new.one that is 10 years old would be useless.
you should put a rear in first.
the front diff is not very strong and could easily be broken if you were to lock it only.

regarding some peoples opinions on nissan lsd centres,i don't know where the myth started that they are good let alone the benchmark that all other lsd's are compared to.
patrol lsd hemispheres are not all that great,i challenenge any patrol owner to jack up one rear wheel on flat level hard ground and try to drive away.you won't move one millimetre.the wheel that is off the ground will spin while the other remains still.this is in my opinion a very poor lsd.

if you guys think patrol lsd's are so good,i have a few brand new hemispheres you can have,i have both friction and cone types.
how many would you like?

Put one in the front and you probably will decide you dont need one in the back
Put on in the back and you will be wanting one in the front.

The auto locker in the front of my 60 works well, is a pain to turn though, might end up chucking it in the back and putting the clapped out 75 lsd rear in the front. Most of the stuff i plan on doing i'll only need a rear locker anyway.

what lsd does drive with a lifted wheel? don't they usually need some resistance on the opposed wheel to work?

dirty 60, while you have the centre out, get the lsd shimmed up a bit, nice and tight

Then why are nissan lsd's so highly regarded then? I've yet to see a patrol or maverick LSD get someone out with a wheel lifted, even with riding the brake etc.

Because they work. Are they the best LSD in the world? Probably not. Are they the best LSD in a factory stock 4WD diff? Yep, otherwise, show me better ...
