I have just installed a gear driven transfer in my coily, tis a bit noisy, works perfectly shifts nicely had no play in the bearings but just a bit noisy mainly on deceleration.
just wondering if anyone had come across an oil that seems to quieten down their transfers the stuff i put in (Suzuki recommended weight) seemed a bit thin.

Depends on what you want to spend, I hear redline shockproof is the best but is $$$.
Seriously I think you've been a coily owner for too long if you are complaining about noise

I"ve got heavyweight shockproof in mine.
No idea if it's quieter than it would be with different oil, but my 6.5's are quiet.

it's not hard to get a sierra quiet mine was loud as hell to start off with.
and it did lower the gearing i notice it on the road have not tried low range.
so whats this redline stuff i'm not really concerned about price.

Redline is a high performance oil brand, they make alot of really really good stuff but are very expensive when compared to normal off the shelf brands.
It normally needs to be ordered from a specialty performance shop.

It's $140 for just under 4 litres from Bursons. (4 quarts)
Make sure you've got a breather on there - it would be a shame to put $40 worth of oil in there and have to drain it because of water ingress.
