Had a noticable pop come from the front end this arvo and no "front drive", put in back in 2wd and limped out. Dropped my mate home and turned the wheel to pull out of the gutter(2wd obviously) and heard another obvious "crack".

The diff wouldn't make such a sound whilst the hubs are unlocked surely, and the diff wouldn't make any noise through steering in 2b surely?????

Yep and you have little bits of cv in there that are getting in the way of the bell when you try to turn, thats were the resistance is coming from. Best to pull the CV out before you drive it again as it is possible for the steering to lockup.

Withoug looking at it, id say that a blown cv is a problem. What ya describe fits prefectly. Had the same thing happen to me couple of months ago. If ya mechanicaly minded changing em is not realy hard.

Yeah, not so hard. only about two hours, minus breaks. First time without a handbook isn't so bad eh

Not to bad for a first CV change. I can do one in around 20min with no air tools and have even done it before without a Jack.

Get used to it Stock CVs are weak.

I suppose it's easy when you don't have any flex :finger:

Done that before myself, helps lots when the flex is greater than the jack
