Outer Limits 4x4 Board

Was driving my 1hdft 80 ser the other day when it clicked over 230000 k's and the timing belt light came on. Obviously i will have to do something about it but i thought the light came on at 100000 km intervals?

Does this simply mean that the belt was changed at 130000 insted of 100000 last time or does it indicate that the odometer has been wound back or something sinister like that?

Could be either. It also may have taken the owner 30K to realise how to cancel it out.
