Using your brakes will also make the hubs hot. If it gets that hot just from running it, it's too tight. Should be no more than mildly warm without brakes.

Mate i got the same problem, got home last night after driving about 100klm and i was poking about under the jeep and i touched one of my rear rims and it was stinking hot. The other 3 were cool to touch but that one rear rim/drum brake was way overheated and it was the same, i couldnt touch it for more than 3-4 seconds so something definately wrong but i havn't looked at it yet.

First 3 things to look at are
1) Brake Caliper might not be releasing properly - might be disc problem or a sticky caliper slide - Caliper kits are cheap and a good place to start.
2) Hand Brake may be grabbing on one side - unlikely
3) wheel bearings may be too tight or in need of service or replacement.

Try coasting on a dead straight and dead flat bit of road. Does it pull sightly to one side. If it pulls to the hot side then that suggests it is hot because of the brakes - not bearings.

Funny - I drove down Mt Buller only yesterday in wife's Honda MDX. After a half hour coast into Mansfield the front RHS brake stunk of burning pads but dammed if I am a braking man. Last time I dove that stretch I got booked so I took it easy. And the LHS was fine. Turned out to be a sticky caliper. Bummer is that the only parts for MDX come from Honda only - Ouch!

this has only started scince i changed both L and R wheel bearings and all pads on the front. I pulled the left hub appart which is hotter one and seemed a bit tight so ive loosed it off a tad so give it a go tomorow after driving to work. also it does pulled slightly to the left when driving thought it may of been an alignment prob... pulls slightly more when braking.
