Hey all i have come across a 4.2 gu turbo that is almost new and for the right price and was just wondering if anyone has used one on a 1HZ before and what the out come was? I will be fabrication everything to suit and only be run bout 7psi of boost

Its goin on an 80 series as well

never done it with that exact turbo however it should be a fairly straightforward conversion. you can make up a little adaptor about 30mm long to go from the triangular flange on the exhaust manifold to the turbo flange which is probably a garret T3 flange on the nissan. the rest is easy, just plumb up your water, oil, air and exhaust.

If your 80 is very early (pre 92) then the engine mount might be a bit in the way of the turbo oil drain but if you are careful you'll get it in there. later models are easy.

you will find you will need to clock the turbo housings so everything is pointing in the right direction, be careful when getting it apart.

That was the plan was to make an adaptor to the triangular flange
